front bearings?
lately my sv has developed what appears to be noisy bearings. when i roll it out of the house to start i can hear a rubbing noise which sounds like its coming from the front. today when out i think i could hear a rubbing noise when cruising(kinda hard over the beowulf:D). today for the first time when i slow down to a stop i can feel vibration through the bars and rubbing combined with a chug chug knocking kind of feeling. tyre pressure is good, pads look ok and the brake lever isnt pulsating ala warped disc symtom. are my front bearings gone??

Re: front bearings?
The rubbing could be the front calipers slightly seized ...it happens easily in this wet weather, as for the sudder, if you were breaking hard this can cause a shudder effect on the front end, i know i still get it on mine and i've gsxr calipers on now.
Last thing that comes to mind might be the head bearing, but thats more of a movement feeling than a shudder .. |

+1 brakeing hardish can cause a slight shudder and the binding could be calipers/pads etc... tho if you have a front paddock stand bump the front wheel off and check the bearings then you will find out for sure. ;) |

Re: front bearings?
I would suggest getting that front wheel in the air and giving it a wobble side to side see if there is any play. Also do the good old pulling pushing on the forks with the front wheel in the air see if the head bearings are shot

Re: front bearings?
Could be calipers need a rebuild, wheel bearings, spin front wheel and listen for a noise. Bearings rumble. Will also show any excess resistance from brakes
