L.E.D Relay

To put it simple im in need of a L.E.D relay for the sv.

im being told that the Suzuki relay is different to the 'universal' relay other manufactures use, and from what i've found so far, they're stupid money.

so does anyone know of a site etc that sell them without a stupidly high price for what is basically a coil of wire and the use of magnetic flux? .

cheers steve

Re: L.E.D Relay

If you get one from halfords (think its a honda one) you just need to adjust the wiring slightly for it to work. Cheap as chips.
The info is on here because that is where I got it. Have a search ;)

Is this for indicators? I've fitted 2 resistors under the rear seat to bring the resistance up across the 4. 20 min job, cost a few quid. Details are on this forum if you search...

what size resistors did you use ? I tried 100 ohm last night and they didn't flash at all. I think it was too much.

Thanks,

The resistors are normally wired in parallel so actually reduce the overall resistance. The problem is that the resistance of LED or low wattage bulbs is actually too high. Hence the fast flash when a bulb blows (infinite resistance).

And the other problem with resistors is heat.

They work, and they probably wont cause you a problem, but the relay is a much better solution.

They do get rather hot.

I've got a motrax universal relay to fit at some point when i get around to it

I don't know off the top of my head, but I used the size recommended elsewhere on this forum.

I've had *no problems* with heat, they barely get warm.
