db killer and the law?

does fitting one of these aftermarket db killers to a non road legal can make it road legal?

who has a race can with one fitted and what does the mot tester say? if any thing?

just wondering!

For the can to be legal it needs to have a BS or E mark and number on it. So a "not for road use" can with a DB killer in it is not legal.

that depends on what you mean by road legal...

an illegal can could pass an mot and meet the noise requirements for road use but still be illegal because it was produced for non EU markets...

what about some thing like this tho, e marked so meets europe std. but does it really make the can legal, at the end of the day its not the way the cans work which is illegal its the noise,

if this e marked add on is going to chance the noise then im hopeing it makes the can legal.

It also depend if you have a "friendly" MOT man. I've seen a fully track prepped R1 (Racefairing, slicks, no lights etc) get a full MOT!
