Indicators
I have been thinking about getting a second bike but have decided against it and I'm going to get some some nice indicators for the SV instead and maybe a belly pan. I can't decide between these two.
http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/5...cators/Bike-It http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/5.../On-Two-Wheels Do you (normally) get the same ones for front and rear? And what is it again I need to buy separately, relay thingy? Do I need two of those? (one for front and one for rear). Or am I better off not getting LED ones for front? Lots of questions, any answers? |
Re: Indicators
I've yet to see a pair of LED indicators that offer the brightness and viewing angle of normal bulb types, they're there for a reason at the end of the day. If yhou do get then though you only need one "Flash-It" relay for the whole bike and I'd say having different ones front and back is just fine so long as they suit the lines
If you have the yellow covers you could do worse than a set of clear lenses and yellow bulbs from a newer year Suzuki model, they look much nicer but still offer the view of the stock ones |
Re: Indicators
wait from buying a bike to indicators, huh

Re: Indicators
I like the non chrome ones, the ones adverised are per pair so you'll need to by two sets. If you have a naked it's as simple as that. If you have a faired on you might need slightly longer stalked ones to protrude enough, however I'm posting in ignorance on that front as I've never bought stalked indicators for a faired bike (I have mirror ones).
You'll require an LED flasher unit (just one) it needs to be wired in in place of your old flasher unit (which is part of the sv's multifunction relay), just a case of snipping to wires and attaching the flasher unit across them. Quote:

Looked very "aaaight" though:D |
Re: Indicators
wow; I went for mini arrow ones for my curvey and thought 'these'd look great on a pointy', fair few months later I bought a pointy so tried it out. These are the longer stalked ones though on the rear as my tail tidy meant they'd be situated pretty close together if not.

Re: Indicators
Thanks for the replies guys. I might get the shorter black ones for the front and the longer ones for the rear as I have a tail tidy and I believe you can see them better if they stick out a bit more.

Re: Indicators
I understand you can also get resistors, one for each indicator. Has anyone done that? They're cheap. Are they necessary? and instead of the relay or in addition?
