Insurance Question

Hiya

If i had third party F&T and dropped my bike, would i have to tell the insurance company knowing it wouldn't gain me anything or can i just cancel the policy and SORN it to sell for spares & repairs?

Muchos gracias.

(i might've had a :smt062 with the asphalt)

Re: Insurance Question

No you don't have to and shouldn't tell them. Just cancel the policy they don't need to know why.

Strictly speaking you _should_ tell them. As you should declare every single time it fell off the stand, fell over stationary etc etc. No one does and I wouldn't, you're not claiming off them and it would affect your NCB.

You may want to consider if it is actually worth canceling or if you are actually better off long term to leave it to expire. Just depends on how much you paid, how much NCB you have and how long you have left on it.

I think you get fourteen days to cancel a new policy and get all your money back.Could be wrong about that though.

Oof, hard luck! I think you ( as previously mentioned) get a rethink period on the policy. And don't tell them. It's not like the road'll make a third party claim. Or was it bad enough to have the Bill involved?

Re: Insurance Question

I rode 90 miles all day from the Wirral to Bridgnorth and then to the flat, and hit the deck on a shaded bit of road 30 feet from the door. No old bill, just a nice lady who carried my helmet. Forks bent n all sorts so i'm just gonna flog it for nothing much on here to someone who needs a hobby and is tired of daytime TV.
