Becoming a pain riding!
Hey just looking for some advice.
Ok i belive the sv has adjustable suspension standard, was wondering if theres a guide on how to. And if anyone could recommend where to adjust to. Sick of being on bumpy roads and getting off in pain, also with other half on the back alot now becoming a joke. Got off today almost annoyed. Either that or is the sv just notoriously uncomfy, i mean the seat they provide on the pointies is shocking and i'd be comfier rubbing my a**e on a wire brush sometimes. If it really can't be changed much i will be contemplating a new bike on finance/trade in. Just sick to death of not being able to enjoy my ride, and feeling so tense and p***d off when i get off. Minor rant over, any advice welcome! Matt. |
Re: Becoming a pain riding!
nop its not adjustable in the way you are thinking
look at an end to end setup, front fork oil/springs (£100ish), set sag up (FREE) othere than that you will have to replace the rear shock if you want any adjustment or to have it set to you weight (£££ depends on what you want or try the old ZX6 shock mod if you want) |

Re: Becoming a pain riding!
get it setup riht forst matt. you need to see why your in pain. It could be the bars or it could be that your bottoming out over every bump. theres a guide that somone will post shortly im sure. Basically it involves measuring everything up and setting your preload so you have plenty of suspension movement. If your taking the lass on the back then things are just going to get worse.
I popped (read got yc to) progressive suspension springs in mine with new oil and didnt notice a bit of difference. Stuck in a load of 20mm washers for some preload and it transformed the bike. give it a go! |

As G, I found the SV pretty uncomfortable but the "highly focussed" Kwak is way better. Horses for courses... |

Re: Becoming a pain riding!
You must remember the SV is basically a budget bike-£4000 and you get what you pay for, where as a bike costing £8000 has more refinement. Taking nothing away from the SV,which is good value for the money. If you spent another £4000 on it you could have a superb bike. This is why people upgrade to different bikes after the SV.
