Nooooooooooo far too slack. I would sort that ASAP before it jumps the sprocket and you end up proper fooked.

I'm not a chain expert either, but here's my 2d worth.
1) Inspect both the sprockets. The teeth should be nice and symmetrical, if they're worn go to step 5. 2) Try to pull the chain away from rear sprocket at the 3 o'clock position. If it moves more than about 10mm go to step 5. 3) Clean and lube the chain then tension it correctly. Check it again in a hundred miles, if it has become slack again go to step 5. 4) Check and lube the chain regularly. Don't go to step 5 until it shows signs of wear. 5) Replace the chain and sprockets Keith. |

i use wd40 to clean my chain, then once i've gone for a short blast spray on chain lube and leave to soak in...
i had a scottoiler on my curvy, but can't afford one for my pointy at the mo :( |
