Exhaust Stuck - Removal Advice

Hi I have a 2005 650S.

I am in the process of trying to remove the exhaust, I have removed (or destroyed) all the the bolts holding the thing on, but is doesnt want to budge, either at the head or the section joint.

I have tried lots of banging with a club hammer and a bit of heat, also pulled back the tabs at the joint and scraped out the gasket but to no avail yet.

Other then bloody mindedness any advice? I was considering placing a jack between the barrels and the exhaust and trying to pop if off with a bit of pressure, whats the worst thing that can happen, maybe bending the pipe a little?

Cheers
Rob

Are you trying to fit a full system?

No I'm actually trying to remove the swingarm, to look at changing the bearings, however, you cant remove swingarm without first removing exhaust.

When I took off my system I had to pull the front header pipe with all my might with my foot on the front barrel. Once I'd done this, then the system came off, but it was a hard job.

As above, as long as you're sure you've got all the bolts off (theres one under the engine on the curvy - I don't recall if the pointy is the same) then it's a bit of a brute force job.

I got a wee bit of movement by pulling the front downipe from side to side, which seemed to loosen it a bit and then knocked the front pipe out with a hammer and piece of wood.

Pointy is same enough.

Are you SURE you've got all the bolts out? You know there's one hidden under engine?

Generally they corrode into place in the head. Use a bit of 4x4 and a big hammer to tw*t it from one side to other to loosen it.
