Re: Datatool system 3 battery question
You could try the anti spike procedure. Never tried it mysef but:
Use these if the alarm system has been spiked. 1. Remove lid from main alarm unit. 2. Remove internal battery link from PCB (arrowed) 3. Remove alarm inline fuse 4. Unplug PCB from alarm loom Leave these parts out over a period of at least 6 hours, to allow the system to drain completely. http://www.numan.biz/sv650/alarm.jpg To refit With the bikes battery still in place and fully charged. 1. Plug PCB onto loom and reinstall 2. Replace In-Line fuse. 3. The alarm will sound for a period of approx. 30 seconds. 4. Allow the system to reset itself. 5. Replace internal battery link onto PCB. 6. Make sure all connections are complete and replace lid 7. Disarm system as normal (this may take up to 3 presses as system realigns itself) ` |

Just take the datatool out ;)

Re: Datatool system 3 battery question
I would remove the alarm as they're so bloody annoying.
Don't remove the battery or the alarm will die in an annoying way and you'll need to remove it. If you are maintaining battery then run the optimate lead outside or something. |

Took my alarm out and wrapped it in a blanket and left it to scream to a muted death in the corner of the shed :) |
Re: Datatool system 3 battery question
But you have to connect the battery lead. I have a waterproof AccuMate TM71 which I haven't fitted yet. I also have a datatool 3 alarm so to get the lead fitted I am going to have to disconnect the battery at some point.
