650 or 1000?

Tried to do a search, but hit by everything but

So basically, I currently have a 650S and am thinking of changing to 1000. Apart from the obvious what are the thoughts of anyone who has done this, or vice-versa and why, and riding position/comfort differences etc.

Two totally different bikes, lots of threads on here already covering it ;)

not done it but from my understanding

thou uses a fair bit more fuel than the 650
thou has loads of power and torque
650 handles better (when equipped with proper forks like the thou)
thou is heavier

other than that i cant help :p

Unless the thou has the same fork conversion then they both handle the same ;)

The Thou is for those who can't be bothered to add hot cams, do 'Busa piston swaps etc :)

I'd love to do a "minitwin race spec chassis" for the thou on the road. It'd be *beast* as the young 'un say. Total weight strip and race fairing, USD forks, Penske rear shock, Underseat exhaust etc.

In fact, I might just have my next project :)

nope RWU up forks

Swaps are common for GSXR 1000 fronts

Speak to Dave Preston he's had both in sucession

Re: 650 or 1000?

just because they are RWU does not mean they are not cartridge ;) all that means is the orientation of the forks.
