Ignition barrel question.
 

Hi
After having my sprint's ignition screwdrivered , the little plastic flap which protects the barrel has been broken off

Now open to the elements , will I have to keep covered with something to stop water getting into switch or should it be ok

Believe electric connections are under barrel ?

the actual switch is normally barriered from the mechanical lock barrel, so from that perspective it' should be fine, however it is now open to all sorts of muck getting in there, so be sure to give it a bit a wd40 every so often, try not to put grease in there as it just acts as something for grit to stick to.
