how would that work then? Would it just be easier to just get an SV specific rather than having to mess about?

Its a 20 minute job, but if you dont know what you are doing, then yes, buy an SV one.

Yes you can fit that, done a similar job on mine. The GSXR one i got is bigger in size than the SV one though and a little cable modding to rejoin the connectors will be required.
They work Much better though, more efficient and are engaged at lower RPMs than the SV unit.
