Tubular handlebar conversion for Pointy 'S'?

Hi guys,
anybody over here done a handlebar conversion on pointy SV650 S K8?

Do I need for this conversion new grips and bar end weights?
(my bike is almost brand new so the grips and bar end weights are like new …)

Many Thanks for your help ;)

Re: handlebar conversion ???

You can re-use the grips, throttle side is a given anyway. I think naked bar ends are different from ugly plastic bike ones.

Hi Toxic,

Thanks for your reply - but I forgot to mention I am about to convert from clip ons to regular handlebars ...

Many Thanks

I got some risers of evilbay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-Bar-Riser-7-...item27bb052919, drilled and fitted to top yoke, fitted some renthals with the cross brace, re-routed cables to fit, best to take tank off and drop radiator and take lower fairing off. Clutch cable routed threw side of frame, took electric bits off carrier under airbox and routed throttle cables as required.

The top yoke on the 'S' is NOT designed to be load bearing like the one on the Naked bike - a better solution is to spend the money and replace the top yoke with one designed for the job.

Time will tell, seems strong enough (my opinion only), not had problem yet, 2000 miles done already! Load should not be an issue as sitting more upright rather than on top off and over front end.

The loading comes from the fact that you are using the top yoke to steer the bike as opposed to the forks.
