sv fuel running costs.
Just filled up today from a brimming tank. Id done 88.8 miles and it cost 8.88 to fill it back up again. 1 quid per ten miles. Dunno if this is good but it got me thinking about how others calculate your fuel costs?

Re: sv fuel running costs.
depends on how many ltr it took.
mileage / ltr X 4.546 .. gives you MPG |
Re: sv fuel running costs.
over 157.74ltr i have averaged 13.7 MTL so at the current price of £1.309 per ltr it would cost me £0.95 per 10 miles. this is an average over 2160.9 miles

Re: sv fuel running costs.
Its costs me on average 11p per mile

Re: sv fuel running costs.
I was pretty close. With the bike being off the road for three years it used to cost 11 quid to fill it. Now its around 14. So its a yearly increase of 1 pound per tank fill. Nightmare.
So.... A mile on a sv costs you 10p! |
Re: sv fuel running costs.
I check my MPG on every tank. I fill it up, reset the mileometer. Ride until the fuel light flashes, fill it up, and check how many miles I've done. Then divide that, by the amount of fuel I've put in. Nornally 145 miles divided by 2.6 gallons = 55 miles a gallon. My car does 30 mpg, so I use the bike a LOT for commuting. Plus I can easily overtake the people who like to drive at 40mph, in a 60mph limit, that's my favourite bit about my SV.
