03 sv restriction kit?
Hi
hope i am not covering old ground here, had a look at the search and found nothing conclusive. i have just got an K3 for my son. i managed to get hold of an FI restrictor kit that consists of 2 washer and a throttle stop. my question is whereabouts on the inlet tract do the washers go (unfortunately the kit came minus fitting instructions) any help gratefully recieved thanks |
Re: 03 sv restriction kit?
Just some advice I have the Fi kit in it was horrible to ride and felt way under 33bhp and got then got them swapped for a restricted ecu I got of here and the difference was amazing
But sorry not to sure how to fit the Fi kit |
Re: 03 sv restriction kit?
Never run an FI kit, but my restricted ECU ran fine with no issues at all. Plus it only took a few seconds to fit!
Cant help with the original question though sorry! Sure someone will let you know soon. |
Re: 03 sv restriction kit?
Just to let you know, I had to provide a certificate of restriction to my insurance company, so could be a problem if u fit it yourself?

Re: 03 sv restriction kit?
thanks for the responses.
who was your insurer Murph ?? i have looked into it and the concensus seems to be just declare it and ensure its fitted in case you get nabbed by the plod |
Re: 03 sv restriction kit?
bikesure and MCE wanted it. But other may not a mates insurance company didnt want it. So it must vary.

Re: 03 sv restriction kit?
CIA never asked me for proof, never even asked if it was restricted!

Re: 03 sv restriction kit?
I ride a K3 restricted bike and use the ECU, which I got on E-Bay for sixteen pounds. A friend had a FI washer and throttle stop set up and it was frankly awful.
ECU is the best way to restrict a Pointy, the other way just makes it feel under powered and vile. In reference to Insurance, no one has ever asked me to prove my restriction is in place (which it is, despite my bad girl image) and any that did would get told to Foxtrot Oscar! I am currently insured with MCE (wont be making that mistake again, they are con merchants) but have used three other companies for my various bikes. Not one has ever asked me to prove the bike is restricted. FI are also con men, avoid them like a rage infected zombie! |
Re: 03 sv restriction kit?
