Never run an FI kit, but my restricted ECU ran fine with no issues at all. Plus it only took a few seconds to fit!
Cant help with the original question though sorry! Sure someone will let you know soon. |

Just to let you know, I had to provide a certificate of restriction to my insurance company, so could be a problem if u fit it yourself?

I ride a K3 restricted bike and use the ECU, which I got on E-Bay for sixteen pounds. A friend had a FI washer and throttle stop set up and it was frankly awful.
ECU is the best way to restrict a Pointy, the other way just makes it feel under powered and vile. In reference to Insurance, no one has ever asked me to prove my restriction is in place (which it is, despite my bad girl image) and any that did would get told to Foxtrot Oscar! I am currently insured with MCE (wont be making that mistake again, they are con merchants) but have used three other companies for my various bikes. Not one has ever asked me to prove the bike is restricted. FI are also con men, avoid them like a rage infected zombie!
