wheel alignment tolerance.

just curious as to what sort of tolerance you need on wheel alignment. i seem to be about 2-3mm out front to back using string. is this acceptable?

Is string that accurate? I would have thought it'd stretch a bit

It stretches out straight...

I'd get it as near as could be measured. Can you not borrow 2 lengths of angle iron or something?

Just purchased a bit of alu box section to double check and found out its 2.5mm out compared to string. Just wondering how accurate it needs to be and indeed if the box section is more accurate (which i assume it is)

Where are you measuring to & from? I've only every seen wheel alignment checked using two straight anythings against the back wheel lined up against the front.
