I think it's broken, oil everywhere
I have a 2000 sv650s. 44500ish miles, ridden in all weather. I think its broken.
Riding to work today it felt like there was ice everywhere, losing it in most corners, so i, being me, assumed it was greasy roads or low tyre pressure. At lunch i looked at her. I have a puddle of oil on the rear wheel, rear tyre coated in oil, oil all over both sides of the swing arm, all over the side stand, all over the bottom of the engine, and the exhaust system has also had its share, there is none left when i look to see if there is any in the window. There is none on the clutch cover or around the oil filter, and the sump plug is still in place and tight. She's still sat at work as i wasn't going to ride her home, but does anyone have any suggests as to what it could be? |

Re: I think it's broken, oil everywhere
Check that the front sprocket nut is tight, if it's loose, (or missing - not unknown!), exactly what you're describing happens.
