SV won't start after lowside
 

Hi all,
Fixing my bike up after a low speed drop, no sign of the starter turning over - should I suspect the gear position switch even though the neutral light works? Anything else might have broken? Is there a clutch lever position sensor?
Also if anyone has the following for sale (1999 curvy yellow S) please pm me: clutch lever, gear lever, front left panel, front left indicator glass.

have you checked the fuses?

The clutch switch is a two prong connector located under the clutch perch. That would be my first thing to check.

Near the lever? The clutch lever did take a proper battering.

under the lever is a little "box" has the switch in it.

also do curves have a tip over switch ??

If the switch on the clutch is knackered, you can pull the connector off it, then stuff a paper clip (or other wire) across the connector. IIRC, you only need that to operate the starter - once its running you can pull the paper clip out.
That'll work until you can get the switch fixed.

Confirmed it's the clutch switch. Just need to get the bits then!

Good stuff :)

FYI vjones is correct that you only need clutch switch for starter, not for it to run. And also if neutral light is working then that sends signal to the cut-out relay to allow it to run if stand is down.
