Tail Tidy & New Indys Fitted ***UPDATED***
Well I got round to sorting my bike out after being sold an incorrect under tray/battery tray as my original was modified for an aftermarket under tray.
Still awaiting a new number plate but thought I would get on with what I could do. I started by putting everything back on the undertray including the battery, fuses, ecu etc... and fitted the brackets on for the R&G Tail Tidy http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/8928/img1253ij.jpg Then fitted the rear tail section back on, already looking loads better, shame you have to ruin it by putting a number plate on really. You can just see the brackets through the gaps to be able to put the other section of the R&G tidy on. http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/7287/img1262g.jpg Next up the indicators I got from Powerbronze at the bike show at the NEC after seeing them on the stand, they were bright and looked well made. Fitted them on the tail tidy and fitted the tail tidy to the bike as instructed, this is where everything started going wrong :( http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/6938/img1263xv.jpg As you can see 3 bolts are in, but one is not lining up as it should be :( from the pic below, you can see it coming from the rubber slightly http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/8519/img1269hh.jpg Then I connected the indicators with the in built resisters to some adaptors I brought from eBay to connect to the existing wiring but didn't get what I had planned :( http://youtu.be/tJuIdJbZ0YM http://youtu.be/TcIVJ8ilC2k Any suggestions? |
Re: Tail Tidy & New Indys Fitted with Probs!
Get one of these, as obviously the supplied resistors aren't working

Re: Tail Tidy & New Indys Fitted with Probs!
R&G must have updated their bracket design. Mine didn't look like that and was just in one piece. Sorry can't help with that

Re: Tail Tidy & New Indys Fitted with Probs!
Well a bit of an update.
I was having a ponder and I went back to check my theory, I had put the right indicator into the connector for the number plate light, as this was not connected before so I didn't know what was what. So I went to try it and got that sorted, but the resistors that are built in are clearly not doing what I was told they would, and change the flash rate as they are flashing too quickly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8Z-K...2&feature=plcp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L_NU...1&feature=plcp |

Re: Tail Tidy & New Indys Fitted with Probs!
i had such issues fitting my r&g tail tidy and it still doesnt look 100% to me but loosen everything off and start with the off bolt just a few threads in then the rest....also prepair for lots of swearing as you have to take the fairings on and off 10 times.
