Fuel light - different q to the normal one, promise!
So I checked the valve clearances on my bike & sure enough although a little intimidating at first it wasn't too bad & I'm glad I did it myself for what I have learnt & money saved :)
I thought I was being wonderfully methodical about the whole thing noting any connections I'd undone to make sure I got everything back together but it looks like I missed one. The white connector that goes from the fuel tank to the LHS of the bike just under the fairing / black blanking panels didn't get plugged back in. From what I can tell this is for the fuel light sensor & while the bike still worked as I went for a tootle about it seems to have got a little close to something quite warm & has turned a delightful toasty colour in places. So now it's plugged back in, the fuel light comes on when I turn the ignition on so can I assume from this that it's not too badly damaged & should still flash when I'm low on fuel OR does it light up anyway whether it's working or not. I know i'll find out when the tank gets low enough but I want to do a few more things on it & so this may take quite some time. Plus I'm back in work so I don't mind writing really long posts ;) |

Was it too obvious where I was going with that one?
