SV ignition, key stiff to turn on.

My SVs key thingy is very stiff and i can just about turn it on and putting the steering lock on is very hard, I found out if i wiggle it, it just about goes, Ive tried WD40 and hasnt changed much, how can i make it smooth to turn on off and parking lights only ect?

If you have both keys, just try the other one, your key could be worn

Get the lead of a pencil and grind it up using an emry bord or simuler and work it in the lock .

Oil isn't recommend for lock barrels

As NTECUK suggested graphite powder is usually whats best

White lithium grease sorted mine out.

dry chain lube or graphite powder.

if you use anything liquid and sticky it will keep the dust inside the lock which adds to premature ware (turns into grinding paste). if you are having problems then blast some wd40 down then compressed air then lube with dry chain lube or graphite powder.
