Pointy won't start
Ok so got out the house to get bike ready for work, alarm off, key in, turn on. Funny noise from the FI or whatever it is. Clutch in press starter button...nothing, not a peep.
Check kill switch is properly off still nothing, **** around with side stand and nothing. The priming sound keeps happening but other than that bugger all. I did adjust my clutch yesterday but don't see anything that could have buggered it as it was working fine! Checked all the fuses I can find and all ok. Looks like the button does work as the lights dip when I press it. Any ideas? Gonna have to get a bloody taxi to work now so will hopefully try them this afternoon |
Re: Pointy won't start
Do you have stubby clutch lever?
The clutch switch can end up not being thrown properly when they're adjusted. Jambo Sent from my thingie |
Re: Pointy won't start
^ This,
Remove the clutch switch connector off the perch and short them 2 terminals see if that fixes your woe :) |
Pointy won't start
Thanks guy, I do have stubby ones on there, tried putting the adjuster to the max position but no joy. Where abouts is the switch? I may have knocked it out if place when working out the free play!

Re: Pointy won't start
You've got a 2 prong'd connector coming out of the cabling about an inch from the LHS switch gear.
This connects to the 2 terminals pretruding from the underside of your clutch pearch. If they're not connected then there's your problem, of course they may be connected but that still may be your problem lol. :) HTH |
Pointy won't start
So on the actual lever holder thing yeah? Would I need to take the lever off to check this?
Thanks! |
Re: Pointy won't start
Yeah its on the underside, no need to remove anything. Just get down on one knee and take a look underneath, all should make sense then.
