Front and Rear Sprocket sizes (Pointy 09) Fully Faired?
 

I was looking at one of the tables someone on here made for sprocket sizes and had a play around with diff sizes front and back and found a place that will supply chain and 17 front 39 rear supposedly changes top end to 182mph lol would this be possible or would it be a waste of time?? would I loose acceleration or would bike just ride like poo!

Your thoughts please guys and girls, be nice please im new to all this tweaking ect and just want opinions and best combinations you are using.

with those sprockets you wont get to top out and be slow as feck from the off. if you want fun go up a few on the rear, you'll still hit 120 but much quicker.

With standard gearing the bike probably runs out of power before hitting the limiter in 6th.

This happens because the power that the engine can produce is not enough to overcome the air resistance and other drag forces, raising the gearing would mean that this would happen at a lower rpm, and probably a lower road speed too.

Sadly there's more to making a bike crack 200mph than selecting the right renthal sprockets :)

Lowering gearing will give the bike more acceleration but make it sit at higher rpm for a given gear and road speed which can be annoying on the motorway. Raising it will make it more relaxed and economical on the motorway at expense of acceleration.

There are advocates of changing it either way depending on your preference for the right way for the bike to feel :)

My fully faired K6 is running 15/45. It should be 15/44 according to the book.

When I got my SV, it was, unknow to me, running 4 teeth up on the rear. Made acceleration very quick :D

this is actually quite interesting, as I am getting pants mpg on the motorway at the moment, mind you I do pelt it up the m1 :)

If I had the time and money I would swap the chain & sprok depending when I am going but that's just too much of a faf...

I might go up a few teeth on the rear and down one or two on the front when I change the chain....
