Where do the crank case breathers connect?
So took my air box off to get to my throttle cables and in doing so dislodged a hose which I now know is the crankcase breather hose.
I cannot for love nor money find the connection on the crank case, can anyone shed some light on it for me? |
Re: Where the hell is the connection for the crank case breather?
There are 2.
The one that usually gets dislodged it right at the back of the motor, over the gearbox. You''ll want a torch... The other's on the front cylinder base. Here's a picture of a motor with the breathers attached: http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225...JUgsnAg9Sw.jpg Jambo |

Yeah the front on is fine and in place, how do i get to the rear, it seems to be hidden behind the frame. It will be an issue running with it off though won't it.

The motor will run fine, you'll draw some road crud into the engine and coat the back of the bike including the rear tyre and shock in oil.
So it's not, like, plan A... Take the tube off the airbox to give you the most working space, you may even find getting your hand in from the swing-arm side helps. Know any 5 year olds with bendy fingers? :D Jambo |
Re: Where the hell is the connection for the crank case breather?
I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter who likes to 'help' me in the garage, not sure her mum would appreciate it.
I will have to have another look as it looks like the battery box prevents access from the rear and stops oil going over the tyre, unless I drop the whole undertray out which involves taking out the battery. |

It's fiddly, but you can refit the hose without too much dismantling
