ignition switch contacts, svk6
Long story short, Suzi was completely dead today when I put the key in the lock to start her. No lights, no clicks, no fuel pump - completely dead. After all sorts of tests and a couple of phone calls for advice, as a last resort I brushed some IPA into the ignition switch to try and clean the contacts - which worked a treat!
Is there anything I can use to lube and keep the contacts in the ignition barrel sweet, or will IPA be OK in the long term? WD 40 just seems to attract crap, it certainly didn't solve the problem earlier in the day. Thanks in advance Scotty |

IPA?
I've only got Newcastle Brown in my shed. Do you think a drop of Dog will have the same effect? |

Dry graphite lock lube is your friend. Maplin do little squirty cans for £3 if you have one nearby.
