Fitting heated grips - keep spinning round the throttle!

I've got oxford heated grips and have had them on since October-ish, no matter what I try to use to 'stick' them on, a few weeks later the grip starts spinning round the throttle thing.
The inside of these grips are just straight smooth plastic, no rubber, no ridges or notches.

Ive tried:
Electrical tape (worked best for a month or so)
Epoxy resin
Silicone
No more nails
Some plumbers pipe tape stuff.

Any ideas? It's getting frustrating now

Hairspray, seriously its what I've always used for my grips

Knew somebody would reply with that. I used it religiously on my mountain bike stuff and it worked fine, when I tried it with these it works for about 150 miles before 'letting go'.

I think it's because these are just hard shiny plastic on the inside on the grips, and being heated doesn't help because it softens whatever I use.

Thanks for the prompt reply

Then maybe you need to roughen up the plastic so whatever you use has something to grip onto.

Epoxy is too stiff to use, I'm surprised silicon didn't work, although it might be better leaving for a few days to really cure properly

+1 for roughing up the inside.

I'm surprised the epoxy didn't work as that normally "melts" rubber.

Depending on how the other stuff works you could try this..

Get a few bicycle puncture repair patches, stick them to the throttle tube and let them properly set. then after roughing up the inside of the grip use the glue you get in the kits. That may work better as it's 2 rubber surfaces binding then as opposed to the plastic of the tube.

I've used Renthal grip glue, never had any problems with it.

How high are you heating the grips upto? I used duct tape to get a tight fit then hairspray, slotted them on, left em for a good 2/3 hours then I used em but never heated up more than half way as was plenty warm..

+1 for rental grips glues and roughing up the edges with some wet and dry.

Superglue works for me.
