1 hour diagnostic and still waiting

so... i took my bike to the garage last Friday because it was playing up. so i put the bike in for a 1 hour diagnostics but on my way there the bike starts to cut out so the trip wasn't as pleasant as id hoped the original issues were dropping revs, little sluggish, poor fuel consumption and a few other annoyances and me being not the most technical of people decided to let the professionals handle it.

its now been a week they rang me up yesterday to tell me they were not able to get it started on the hour diagnostic and that they think the alarm is causing it not to start and they wanna disconnect it and spend the remainder of another hour trying to find the problem... im so dreading the cost of fixing my bike if its already cost me £140 to find the problem but its good Friday they aren't open and i don't even know if the place is open atall this weekend so looks like im stuck another week getting the bus to and from work :/

anyone have any opinions? would the alarm out of the blue stop the bike from starting?

Yes if the alarm is faulty it can stop the bike being started.

Alarms are noting but trouble, just get the thing removed. Shouldn't take them long.

Those all sound like ignition problems - have you checked your spark plugs? Might also be worth looking at your air filter too.

These are all easy jobs you can do yourself in an hour!

Garages that fit bike alarms must love get paid to fit them and then 2 years later to remove them!

Rang up today.. apparently the mechanic is still scratching his head to why it wont start and this is 2 hours later.. i really want to know who is looking at my bike because this is starting to cost me an arm and a leg for a diagnostic and they cant even get it started

My SV had poor running like this and just wouldn't rev, it was a HT lead to provides your ignition coil with power which has degraded with time. This was a carbed Curvy though.
