HID Fitting?

Have been doing a lot of reading. When fitting HIDS to the bike do I need some sort of delay relay or headlight relay? Anyone else had to do this or did they just plug it all in and it worked straight off?

The kit should have instructions included.
Read this if you are converting a standard head lamp, so you know why you have a beam pattern that's naughty http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...nversions.html

Oh I know its a naughty beam pattern and but its mediated by light pattern blockers, I am just tired of bulbs blowing on me consistently and having to pay out for more. Least HIDS will last that little bit longer. What I mean is that I have been reading that the stock wiring in the bike cannot carry the current consistent and that there is a drop to around 10v at the h4 plug. Is this the case and what can I do to remedy this? I have read about the Eastern Beaver H4 Dual Headlight Relay kit but its in the States and I cant imagine how long it would take to get here. Any local solutions? Tried to message Bibio to see if he has a fix for it but as yet no reply. Don't know when he was last on the forums.

Re: HID Fitting?

The ballast is supplied via a fuse direct from the battery
a relay will be used to switch it on and off

Re: HID Fitting?

Not this one. It comes with a relay piece that plugs into the ballast and then plugs into the original wiring for the H4. Then the ballast has two wires going to the HID bulb.

Bought from HIDS Direct if it's any consequence.

This is the kit I bought - I have bought multiple kits like it before and have had no issues - don't know why I have 1 side lighting up and the other not. http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/hs1-h6m...s-35w-50w-55w/

Re: HID Fitting?

Right - went down and took the fairing off and fitted everything all over again. When tested, they worked perfectly. I screwed the fairing all together and bolted everything in and on final test the low beam doesn't work at all and only the high beam works. I have no idea what the hell is going on. Please someone help me - has anyone been in this position?
