Sv wiring harness
Hey guys, I recently had issues with my meta alarm, put bike into garage and he
Said wiring was a right state and alarm hadn't been installed properly. He said it would be easier to replace the harness altogether Went and got a harness took it in and he said it would only be a couple of hours labour to change it. Called me today and said Bill was £647.74 would that be about right |
Re: Sv wiring harness
No, it's an hour's work. I fitted a complete new harness to my SV1000 for the same reason, took me less than an hour and I'm not a mechanic. And I had problems cos the replacement harness was US spec. Reckon you're getting shafted there.

Re: Sv wiring harness
Yeah thats what i thought, here is the garage note that came with the invoice, trying to say they spent 10hrs on it -
Attempted to repair existing harness but the harness is beyond economical repair. Stripped body work, removed airbox. Drilled out seized bodywork and screen screws. Air filter is very dirty on removal of airbox - Cleaned and re-oiled.. Stripped out old harness and fitted new harness (supplied by customer). Extended tail light connector and re-terminalled. Rebuilt all bodywork and airbox. |
Re: Sv wiring harness

Re: Sv wiring harness
£50 p/h + Labour

Re: Sv wiring harness
So it took some professional mechanics a day and a half to do what I as a rank amateur did in an hour. You're getting robbed mate.
