Burgular Alarms?

OMO, thinking about getting the above. Anyone got any info to share.

Just checked my area online and in Dec there were 2 break ins, compared to 44 in Chingford. Link on ADT website. Another good reason to have moved.
So hopefully not a high crime rate. Just after piece of mind really.

Thinking of a Yale DIY system as don't have limitless funds.
Something like this - http://www.screwfix.com/p/yale-premi...larm-kit/54473

Any advise, comments welcomed.

The real crims will know the difference so if you want peace of mind get a few quotes on a pro fit one. They will be guaranteed and should be well fitted. ADT are shockingly expensive and are geared towards commercial and high end so look for a local outfit who will want your recommendation. If it's too expensive then see if a friendly sparky is up for helping you put in a simple system.

Avoid ADT!!

If you're technically good enough, pick a good one and diy.

Another vote for Yale. Fitted one after my Jag was stolen from home a couple of years ago. Easy to fit ( no wires to run). The version I have phones me on mobile if alarm triggers. Also has the option to set with configurable home or away options (eg exterior. Door sensors only or all doors plus PIR sensors). Farkin loud bellbox and deafening interior sounder.

Should have added
The honeywell alarm kit is excellent. Used in all commercial installs I've dealt with

ADT - Another Disastrous Testimonial.....

Ok on fire alarm systems in a commercial sense but not home alarms.
