Idle rev adjustment

I have a SV650S from 2003 and I want to adjust the idle revs and the amount of fuel the engine receives, what I want to get in the result is the bike moving by itself if I put it in 1st gear and dont throttle at all. How do I do this and what do I need to adjust, thanks in advance.

Re: Idle rev adjustment

Assuming your bike is a K3 fuel-injected model, and not a carbed model that was sold in 2003, the clutch switch on the injected bikes changes the injector timing and richens the mixture when the clutch lever is pulled, to help avoid the engine stalling on deceleration.

If your hot idle rpm is set as it should be (1,300rpm) then if you're gentle with the clutch you'll be able to pull away in 1st gear without touching the throttle.

Thank you very much I'll try increasing it and check the results .

Re: Idle rev adjustment

The factory workshop manual actually specifies the idle rpm as 1,300 +/- 100rpm. So up to 1,400rpm is acceptable.
