Getting rid of clip ons....🤔

2 Attachment(s)
Attached should be some pics of an item on Ebay. Says that these can be bolted to top of forks if there's 25mm showing through current standard setup (at least that's how I think it's meant to be) which should enable me to get rid of clip ons and add proper bar (obviously I'll need to reroute brake cables or buy naked ones.
Anyone seen these before? Do they look OK?
Can't find a cheap enough conversion and I'm sick of thr clip ons

I would have thought that having 25mm of fork showing through the top yoke would mean the front of the bike is much lower than it should be, and would alter considerably the geometry and subsequent handling characteristics of the bike. You may be better off stumping up for a proper comfort kit, or finding a second hand naked SV top yoke on which to mount normal handlebars.

Yes you could possibly correct some of the drop at the front of the bike by increasing fork preload but its a bit of a gamble...

If that yoke is for a pointy 2003 to 2012 ish it wont fit as the ignition position is wrong. If its a curvy then it should be fine

I think you only get the raisers shown in the first pic and the second is just an illustration of their installation...

Some people installed Helibars but they're not cheap either.
As Gary said earlier, it might be cheaper to buy a used top yoke off a naked SV from eBay.

An acquaintance of mine, some years back, took his top yoke off and welded a set of risers to it, so that he could fit a Renthal Bar. I have no idea what this did to the top yoke, but it did look pretty. He was also one hell of a welder, which probably helped.

On my bike, the top yoke is modified and has machined aluminium plugs that were epoxy bonded (with some posh engineering glue I recall!) into the back, so that I can have custom risers for my Renthal bar. Neither option is cheap, but needs must when the devil tries to stick a rod up your bottom!
