Regulator/Rectifier testing charts

I need someone with a 2002 SV to send me a chart out of their repair manual. I am looking for the chart that gives what the measured voltages from the reg/rect.

E-mail at kern0079@umn.edu

Thanks

Are the ones on this site no good? http://www.sv650.org/sv_manuals.htm

I know that the reg/rect for a 2002 is different than those for the 99-01. As far as I know it is just the plug configuration but I am trying to confirm that before frying my electrical system. The link you posted only gives the chart that applies to the 99-01 reg/rect.

D'oh, my bad. Thought it was worth posting just in case though :o

Hmm? I've got a 2002 one in the garage and it's interchangable with my '00. Do you mean you have aan injected (ie 2003) bike?

No, I mean the 2002. At some point in 2002 the bikes began using a different plug setup on the reg/rects and I want to ensure that it is just the plugs that changed before I install a 2002 on my 2001.

Fair enough... Like I say, i've got one which came out of a K2 which is identical to my old one, but maybe they changed during the year.

It looks like the K3 uses 2 plugs, why the switchover for a short time in the k2's I wonder? Someone is messing with my head.

That's why they did it ;)

There are lots of things that found their way on to the late K2s and early K3s that were a bit, er, unusual.

The late K2s had the same crank cases as the K3s so it is possible to add an oil cooler fairly easily.

The early K3s had a 22mm centre steering stem as per the earlier bikes but changed to a 24mm one for later K3s and beyond.

It is entirely possible that the regulat for a late K2 is the same as that for the K3 models.
