Replacing engine coolant
Is there any easier way than to remove the whole front cowling to replace the coolant? It makes a simple job much more complicated.
|
There is a drain bolt on the side of the water pump, on the right hand side of your engine.
|
but to fill it up, i need to remove the cowling?

Oh I suppose you did... be thankful that you only have to do it once every 2 years.
|
You only have to take the right side panel of the fairing off.

coolant change
I'm due for mine to be changed and was looking here and noticed the right side fairing is to be taken off, is that to get at the pressure cap and is it necessary to remove the pressure cap to refill the coolant,
I know it sounds lazy but my local shop suggested £40 all in for a brake and coolant change but am tempted to try these myself Sorry for being a numpty but slowly getting the hang of this spannering business, |

Yes the £40 Quid is inclusive of everything,
i'm happy at trying got a little bleeder kit and all the bits just being first time kind of reluctant - hope you understand and the coolant doesnt seem that tough, just need a big hose for flushing it all out and draining, |
If I could get my brake fluid and coolant done for £40 all in, I'd take it, even though doign the work myself is no problem. Excellent deal.
