Right you techno-types, what is the best replacement for the rear shock on an 2000 model sv-s?
I have progressive fork springs up front with slightly heaver oil and JHS dog bones at the rear.
Oh yes, and i weigh 12 stone if that's any use? :D

Also i have just bought motrax LED indicators and the relay to go with, but i cant get the bloody things to work!!
I have a full wiring diagram but no instructions of how to do it. Do i bypass the original relay or use them both together? PLEASE HELP! :?

If you only weigh 12 stone... then the best thing is probably a stock SV shock.

You don't say how many miles yours has done... if it's high, it's probably knackered.

Do a search on shocks it's been covered really quite a lot.

There is best and there is cheapest. Really depends on how much you want to spend

Nowt too expensive, just want a bit more positive handling and to get rid of the last bit of chicken strip! 8) http://upload4.postimage.org/754542/rear.jpg

Most people stick in a SRAD GSXR1000 shock, you can usually pick them up on ebay quite cheap. Other options are a ZX10R or a 636 shock. For all of these you will need to trim the battery box to fit the piggyback reservoir.

I'm in the process of fitting a K4 GSXR1000 shock to mine and it's going well so far but not sure what the final result will be yet.

The SRAD was a model of GSXR 600 & 750 from '97 - 2000 (I could be out by a bit on that) There was no GSXR 1000 at this point.

My mistake, I thought there was.
