Recommend me a good biking flipflop

Just popped up the road, only chance one gets to ride sans helmet, and in the foot department found getting the sidestand up a bit of a problem, changing gear obviously painful esp. with a trick folding metal lever end, then damn flipflop came of during a slow manoeuver.

Any recommendations for a good biking flipflop now summer is here? Would save taking some suitable lightweight trainers on holiday as well.

I think you should do what farmers in Northumberland and Yorkshire used to do before herding their geese and chickens to market across the High Pennines moorland trails (that was before people on dirty great big BMW diesel trail-bikes chewed them all up, of course).

They just used to make them run through a puddle of tar or pitch, followed by a sand-pit. Sand adhered to soles of feet (or whatever geese etc have) and voila: durable lightweight foot wear. Should last you for the season , Doctor - but if not, it's easy to top up.

(If you want a bit more fashion, do this at Alum Bay in the IoW, where you can get multi-coloured sands).

A wristband on the toe of your left trainers to prevent it being marked by the gear lever should do the trick nicely.

as long as you have "white sport socks" with at least 2 stripes at the top, under the flip-flops any will do

OK gonna be a bore.

To quote Big Ape - "wear your fecking leathers" or Boots as the case may be. Just nipping up to the shops could still result in some serious scraping of the skin if you come off.

:-k Hmmm....food for thought, but I didnt really want to go down the leather flipflop route.

But thinking off it a nice moccasin of deck-shoe could be the answer, wear out in the evenings then.
