Re: curvy replacement reg/rec?
I have one from a Fireblade, required a bit of soldering as had more output wires than needed on the SV650 but it has lasted many years and fitted in the space. Plus it only cost about £10 on eBay. ... |

Re: Speedo reading again, only different
The curvy ones has a few screws on the back once removed. I don't know on the pointy ones. Easiest thing to do once inside is to find the pin on the connector then follow the trace on the circuit... |

Re: Speedo reading again, only different
Having dissected a set of curvy clocks, and I guess the pointy ones can't be too dissimilar, it might be worth a quick check for any loose components or duff solder joints in the clocks if you are... |

Re: Pointy speedo on a curvy
I have an Acewell on my curvy, using the original front wheel sensor - in fact I just wired it into the loom, the speed sensor outputs 4 pulses per revolution, so you have to set the wheel... |

Re: SV1000 wheels, shocks, exhausts and more
Could be interested in the rear hugger - could you measure between the holes on the side, I have a naked SV1000. Cheers, MT |

Re: Televisions
The panasonic plasmas (the newer ones in the last few years) are very good - we've got one in our TV gallery at work (a TX-P50S21) and, while it isn't a grade 1 CRT monitor, you'd be surprised how... |

Re: Various leathers and textiles
The leathers are a bit baggy on me and possibly a little short (not much though), I am 6' tall, 36" chest and 32" waist. The jacket is pretty big - although it says medium I'd go with it being about... |

Various leathers and textiles
Having a bit of a clear out, will bung up on ebay in a week or so if no buyers but wanted you all to have first dibs. Sorry about the quality of the photos (cameraphone - for some reason all the... |

Re: Motorcycle Boots
I've had a set of Alpinestars tech road boots for the last 4 years. I bought them secondhand off ebay for £50, I've seen new pairs go for £100 or so (example in a slightly hideous colour-... |

Re: What music reminds you of summer?
Don Henley is a good one, I'd also plump for 90 in the shade by the Little Angels. I monitor engineered for the Foundations (and a whole bunch of other bands with hits in the 60s) a few years... |

Re: American V8's
I'm sorry, you WANT a crown victoria? For the love of god, why? It is easily the worst car I have ever driven (and yes, I've driven lots, even lots of american stuff). This car made me sick as the... |

Re: Alternative gauges?
I think the AP means polished, there is a black one as well. You can use all the stock sensors, I just wired it into the loom. You will need to use a 1MOhm resistor in the rev counter line... |

Re: Alternative gauges?
Acewell clocks - I've got some on my ex-faired SV. Works well, although I still haven't made the fuel gauge* work, speedo, rev counter, idiot lights (used the hazard triangle light for the temp... |

Re: Freeview in HD
The HD freeview channels are likely to get 8-16Mbps (bits not bytes) or so data rate (depending on how many they try and wedge into a multiplex, don't forget that this also includes error correction... |

Re: SV running rough, cutting out
Black and oily isn't a great combo, you'd normally expect them to be a sort of dark brown. Does the bike burn any oil (visible smoke) or do you have to fill it up with oil often? Idle speed... |

Re: Freeview in HD
An aerial is an aerial - nothing about it makes it HD. It might be in your area that they are planning to transmit the HD freeview signal at a frequency that is out of the band of your aerial... |

Re: Fuel light permanently on
The "level sensor" is just a couple of thermisors (heat dependent resistor) - you could measure the resistance across them, I suspect one (the lower one) will probably be open circuit. All of the... |

Re: Balancing carbs - one way.
You only ever need 1 pair - it just takes longer if you have more carbs/throttle bodies! I've got a set of Davida gauges, I can't say I'd absolutely recommend them as the damping, which can't be... |

Re: Valve amp build, anyone interested??
By the looks of the circuit diagram, you've got an all class A amplifier, so the output power is going to be on the low side, hence the warm sound (plenty of distortion). For anyone thinking of... |
