Was changing a mudguard over this morning, why
![]() From the Enduro one ![]() to the Supermoto one ![]() ![]() all for a grand cost of £12.99 And it leads me to a question……. The bodywork on the CCM is that soft plastic the bends and then springs back into shape, looks OK, and is very cheap to replace being simple injection moulded (about £60 for everything new). So why aren’t street bike plastics made from the same stuff? OK it doesn’t hold paint very well, but as said cheap enough to replace and they don’t shatter in the event of a fall? Cheers Mark.

They could add the colour before moulding but that would make to much sense not having to buy new parts every time you dropped a bike

He has a point, most bike companies make more money from spares than the bike themselves. So design in failure

I'd like the option of both; cheap ones to put on a hack/commuter bike (maybe even for track days). Nicer finished, glossy, better for painting ones for weekend toys.
