I am replacing mine.
I know you are supposed to get to it by removing the air filter housing, but is it not easier just to lift the tank and get to it that way?? Or is there some other reason i cannot think of why i shouldn't go that way? thanks guys. |

Is that where they put it on a k5? On carb models they are in the tail unit but I've not had a close look at a pointy.

Eh? To remove the airfilter housing you have to lift the tank anyway and are you sure you are removing the right bit?

it should be at the back of the bike, under the pillion seat. you need to take the tail section off

Also, if you haven't got a replacement reg/rec yet, it'd be worth fitting one from a CBR600RR instead - bigger and and less prone to failing than the stock SV one.
Tho that might apply only to curvys too... |
