Just dropped the bike wheeling it out of the garage to take a couple of pics, what a fkin idiot
![]() Anyways, luckily the damage seems to be limited to a snapped front brake lever and a bent rear one, so is it possible to straighten it by bending it back, even with some heat, or will that weaken it too much ? Suppose it gave me a chance to see how easily I could pick the bike up, which I managed fine ![]() |

i work with ali and it never bends back without snapping and heating it up dosnt help at all, especially with cast alloy.
best and safest bet would be replacement. |

I have seen a front brake lever snap. The oh my god look on the riders face was unforgettable. And he was only applying the brake whilst his pillion got on, thank god not when it was needed

My front one is totally bent and snapped, rear one just has a bit of a bend in it so pondered straightening it but apparently thats a bad plan. Just remembered my new (2nd hand but perfect) bar end has a ding in it too now. *sigh*
Looks like 2 secs worth of being a twonk is gonna cost me at least 40 notes ![]() |

Found some levers with a spring loaded knurled foot part, whats the advantages in that ? In other words are they worth the extra dosh to avoid it bending again ? |
