...dear oh dear.
Not had my er6 long, but haven't checked it for a bit. I'm no chain expert, and the only 'pointers' I've been given is the quick run through by my instructor minutes before my mod2, but now this aint right surely. I can even hear it clunking around half the time (I think ![]() Either way, not getting back on til I tighten it me thinks! |

Nooooooooooo far too slack. I would sort that ASAP before it jumps the sprocket and you end up proper fooked.

I'm not a chain expert either, but here's my 2d worth.
1) Inspect both the sprockets. The teeth should be nice and symmetrical, if they're worn go to step 5. 2) Try to pull the chain away from rear sprocket at the 3 o'clock position. If it moves more than about 10mm go to step 5. 3) Clean and lube the chain then tension it correctly. Check it again in a hundred miles, if it has become slack again go to step 5. 4) Check and lube the chain regularly. Don't go to step 5 until it shows signs of wear. 5) Replace the chain and sprockets Keith. |

get a 3 pack of tescos toothbrushes, the ones that have a flat handle. use one for cleaning your teeth. the other two, tape together with bristles facing inwards. use with paraffin to clean chain, then wipe off paraffin with a rag and reapply lube
