Default Your views on waterproof gear

I have tried for a while now to find some good waterproofs but still no luck!
Back in the 80s/90s I had a Bellstaff stormshield thick rubber one piece that worked perfectly however the dog thought it had a tasty guset and chewed the grotch out so I've been searching for a new one with no luck.

What equipment have you guys/gals found that is trudtworthy of the waterproof label not much i bet.

I've got some quilted belstaff trousers which are warm as toast, brilliant even when the temps are well below freezing, record I had them on in was nearly -10 and my legs were fine. (with thermals too)... had icicles on bar ends

Waterproof as you like, but sadly a bit tight around the knees if you've got knee armor in leathers.

I quite like Buffalo stuff. I've had 2 jackets over the past 8 years that have been 100% waterproof.
Bought some of thier trousers in August & they haven't been too good, 1st bit of heavy rain & they leaked, so am taking a trip to Ghostbikes on Saturday to exchange them.

I wear the desert akito stuff, waterproofing seems great.

My new goretex proshell textiles are very waterproof, but that comes with a pretty high price tag. Oversuits seem to be the way to go these days, although you might end up with something with all the properties of a tent going that route.

I have had only the one Buffalo textile/leather jacket in all the time I've been biking....3 years ...but only in the last couple of months has it started leaking, just at the front where the zip meets and at the shoulders, only lets a little in and I haven't 'proofed it yet either. Not bad for £20!

As for trousers, I use a pair of hiking waterproofs that slip on over my leathers, not let anything in yet, only been using them for a few months though. Before then i wore a pair of thermal ski pants, they lost their 'proofing quite quickly but are warm as toast and can withstand a shower. Can you tell I'm a skinflint? Said I'd treat myself to some proper gear when I pass my test though

If you wear leathers, I had Hein Gericke lined "pullover" trousers that were very good and remained waterproof for a few years until I ripped the **** out them on a mates trials bike.
I would go for similar plus jacket or the full one piece.

2nd best to them was surplus army gortex pullovers. Dirt cheap and long lasting again. But I moved onto...

...textiles... warmth, convenience and versatility. You get what you pay for. I had HG Cruise Gortex troos, that remained waterproof for a couple of years (riding everyday). Will replace like for like but the price makes me boak at the moment. And I have a cheapy textile jacket to replace after only a year, still waterproof but falling apart ...
