Default Datatool Veto fob programming?

Anyone actually reprogrammed a fob of the Datatool Veto? Manual off website says connect microswitch wires to battery etc. Seems a bit of a stone age way to go about it? Got bike today, one fob fine, the other lights up but doesn't work the system.

I've done system 3 fobs and have de-spiked Evos.

There is no shortcut for these things.

I suggest following the instructions to program the fob!

Sounds primitive though, don't you agree?

It's an old alarm, probably one of the first specifically for bikes so yeah I suppose it is.

Will eventually do it, just enjoying being back on 2 wheels again.

Job done, mate of a mate came round, it is exactly as procedure describes, however primitive it seems. Now have 2 working fobs.

Why does it seem 'primitive' - by requiring you to connect wires?

If you could do it wirelessly then perhaps anyone could programme their fob to your bike - I'm not sure that will help it be a very good alarm/immobiliser thingy.

Have done alarm fobs before on cars, always been to position switches on module to set a new fob. This seems primitive in comparison, going to a battery+ and slipping, could easily make a nice mess of the electrics. Just my thoughts.
