Default How to keep cool

You can all thank me for this later. Some sort of chocolate sculpture will suffice.

So I was due to take the Shed in for it's MOT at 3pm, but having smelt the inside of my helmet and gagged, at 1pm (when I came round) I decided to wash the inners. So I did it by hand, squeezed them out and put them on the line.

2 hours later I needed to get going so put them back in but they were still soggy. This upset me. It upset me so much actually that in order to get a form of revenge on my helmet inners, I put the whole helmet under the tap and filled it with water. Note, this is a good way to flush out dead flies from your vents.

So I march outside, get the bike out and I'm already baking, sweating from every pore. I prepare myself for a miserable helmet wearing experience and put on my lid!

HOLY BAKED BEANS!! That must be one of the most pleasurable experiences you can legally have in public. It was cooler than a snowman's gonards. I rode all the way to the test centre with my face blissfully cool.

Not sure if this'll feel as good with pants, but I might give it a try.

Unless they are CE approved pants I think you'll get pulled for riding with just pants on your head.

Very very silly Mark. Not quite sure how you justify such silly comments in such a revolutionary and ground breaking thread. Shameful!

I am standing next to my personal air con unit doing a Marilyn Monroe impersonation.

I may need a very cold shower at 7.25 because at 6.55 I have to escort Mr Hugh Jackman around the ground to the Aussie dressing room. Must remember not to dribble too obviously.

A lot of it depends on your gear-the colour, fit & number of vents. The bike also makes a difference. I had to take my touring screen off and put the sports one back on so I got the breeze on me.
My bike helmet has a chin vent and a large vent on top. My jacket has 6 vents & the trousers 2. I find it cool enough in most temperatures so long as I am moving.
