Question Starting problems come and go

Hello im new to this

Got my self a 07plate sv650s fully faired bike
11,000 on the clock

My problem is the bike will start and then sometimes no start just the relay clicking 3 or 4 attempts later at the start button eventually i get a start
This seems to come and go.
Battery has just been replaced and also the starter moter.
Im guessing the ignition/starter relay is on its way out?
Does any one have any idea on what could be causing this

Also engine was stalling but adjusted the throttle as it was sitting below 1,000 rev this sorted that problem right away.

Thanks

Make sure the contacts in the starter button are ok, mine has started acting the same as yours and I know its the starter button because if I angle it correctly it starts fine - It will act as though it has a dead battery if the contacts are an issue - E.G no power when cranking but lights etc are fine.

Yeah the one in the switchgear, if you take it apart be careful not to lose the springs.

I had something similar on my K8 - turned out to be the starter button connections, replaced the right hand side switch gear and all was fine.

When i had the problem, my headlights wouldnt always light up so had to fiddle with the starter button until they came on - I think on the later SV's, the power to the headlights is cut on start up.

Im not to sure i will look in to it once the fairings are off to see what it is.
I dont think i can trust myself taking the actual starter button appart.
How much os it to replace this new or used
Thanks for the replies!
