Default Gear changing without the clutch

Hey so any tips guys?

I was riding back from Soho friday night trying to do it, was on about 7 rpm, and pushed the gear leaver it clicked up a gear, that worked till about 3rd, I could get any higher uo the gears.

I also found it hard to do, had to apply quite a bit of pressure on the gear leaver for it too change. Is its casue my bikes new, so the gear the box is tight?

How about coming back down the gears? Still the save rev range?

Its easy its all about experience... You have to shut the throttle off to the point when the engine is neither pulling or breaking and then itll click up as easy as ever! (you can even do it in the car.)

It wont dmg anything if done properly ofcourse. Though i will warn you my bike seems to love to jump from second back to neutral when im really going for it... Might be worth using clutch 1->2nd.

One more thing ALWAYS use clutch to gear shift down... Period.

Good luck with it.

just slowly close the throttle while pressing the gear lever and when you reach that threshold it will just pop up.

i do it differently, when accelerating, push the shifter upwards, it won't move as the engine power is locking the gears in place.
then when you want to shift, very quickly snap the throttle closed then open again.
it works with no graunching noises, is as smooth and faster than using the clutch, and my gearbox hasn't exploded.

I blip the throttle and use the clutch to downshift
