Default Best place to sell a car

Ok, have you had best results putting on ebay, in autotrader or in your local freeadds?

eBay is quite expensive, but has a massive audience ... however, not sure I'll get the max possible for the car on there.

Autotrader is reasonably expensive and I don't know how many people use it these days. Also you get in there for one week and that is your lot!

Freeadds ... does anyone look for cars in there?

freeads which is now adtrader (i think) ask for payment for selling cars but not bikes

autotrader is good if the car you are selling is under 1k, 18 quid for 3 weeks on web and in paper (i think), also people that are really lazy like me still use rather than go and buy the paper

and freeads.net is good as its free but hardly anyone uses it ad the ones that do are complete time wasters asking if they can do pay monthly on your car/bike and take it away after a deposit of 50 quid

depends how much the car is worth. Anything under ?5 or 6K I reckon in the local paper. More than that then ebay or autotrader

use auto-trader and free adverts. Yeah auto-trader is expensive but...at least it reaches a massive audience and you get your veichle sold relatively quickly.

I flogged a 306 XSi on Ebay late last year. It was a sub-grand banger but I got more for it than I'd expected - certainly more than I'd have asked for in a classified ad.

If it's under a grand, then Ebay it. More than a grand, Autotrader or Ebay. Just be prepared to endure Ebay canvassers - you'll get non-stop calls from timewasters asking "how much do you want for it" despite it being an auction.

Had mine in Autotrader couple of weeks ago, aside from the usual companies promising to sell my car, had no calls for it.

Depends what car.. PistonHeads is free, or if you have something more like 200SX you can always try a drift car forum
