Default Wrung a bolt off!

Sodding engine bolt (upper left side) wrung off as I was re-torquing it after fitting the faring bracket
The Haynes says 55nm and I checked it four times as I was tightening it. The bolt kept turning then popped and sheared off. Fortunately there was 5-6mm sticking out of the engine casing so I removed the spacer, sprayed with loads of WD40 and used a screw/bolt removal bit to wind it out - Phew
Thing is, is the quoted nm correct, and/or was it a dodgy bolt?
I'll be getting a new bolt tomorrow and fitting it in the afternoon so I don't fancy going though all that again.
Is there a particular sequence to refitting - do I loosen the spacer pinch bolt before fitting the bolt?

So 55nm is correct then.
Must have been a dodgy bolt - go Suzuki!
Hopefully back on the road tomorrow and a long test ride to check everything works
Cheers embee
