Is it possible to get ABS on a K3?

No, ABS was introduced on the later SV's. I suppose you could fit the whole system from a later bike onto a earlier Pointy, to be honest you will spend a fortune on something that will not really give a gain.

How will ABS give no gain?? ![]() But yes, it is probably easier and no more cost to just upgrade to a newer bike (to be honest I didn't even know the SV was beign produced with ABS now!! ![]() ![]() |

Who knows? It's likely to be a PITA to do... is the ABS a seperate computer or done through engine management? Whole different loom?

It's definitely something I'd be interested in if it is possible. Purely to stop the front wheel locking up

I'd start with a haynes manual for the 08 and see what bits there are,,, that and having a good look through an ABS'd bike to see what attatches to where.

It is already proven that ABS offers no more or less than someone with a good braking technique.
If you really want to do it, the above is the best place start. |

![]() Being able to stamp on the brakes with no fear of locking up is an unbelievable benefit!! ![]() You no longer have to guess the limits and stay the right side, however hard you pull you can't go OTT ... Never ridden a bike with ABS, but assuming it is as good as modern CAR ABS, then it'd be a real asset to the bike and a real positive step for bike safety!! ![]() Last edited by Blue_SV650S; 14-09-08 at 04:52 PM. |
